In September of 2004, the Pacific Presbytery called Reverend Jason Mather to organize a new church in Long Beach. In May of 2005-- after much planning, fund-raising, and prayer-- Jason and his wife, Olivia moved to Long Beach. The initial core group consisted of friends from the Long Beach area who attended Pacific Crossroads Church. After meeting in small groups for 10 months, City Presbyterian held its first public worship service on June 11th, 2006 at Carver Elementary school. Five years later the church elected its first group of elders and changed its name to King's Church.
